Drawing upon the roles and dress codes in a corporate framework including the stereotypes of the sexy secretary, the collective created suiting for all-day wear, for red-eye flights and boardrooms and worked against those prejudices and social bias. Crafted from deadstock fabrics and tailored with seams all over the garments, the SS21’s blazers and dress pants seem as if they've been slept in on a 10-hour trans-Atlantic flight. Within this collection, the trio launched their first accessory in collaboration with metalsmith Rosie Grace Ward: the Pillow Bag.
Travel is less a physical endeavour than a state of mind, it’s conversations about this mental displacement that drives Mainline:RUS/Fr.CA/DE explorations in design further, each season. Travelling also drums up feelings of homesickness, makes us consider — and reconsider — how we conceptualize “home”.
